SOUTHAVEN, Miss. – A pair of power play goals propelled the Mississippi RiverKings (7-3-0) as they won their fourth game in a row Sunday with a 4-3 victory over the Peoria Rivermen (6-3-2) in overtime at the Landers Center.
Mike Moran started the scoring off for the RiverKings in the first as he buried a Matt Harrington pass past Tyler Green to put the RiverKings ahead 1-0. Just over a minute later, the Rivermen answered on a puck that bounced off a defending players stick right to Ryan Keller in the slot to tie the game at one.
In the second, the Rivermen took a lead after Donald Olivieri's slap shot found it's way home through traffic to give the visitors a 2-1 lead. The RiverKings knotted the game at two when Dave Pszenyczny went to the box for a hooking call, Cullen Bradshaw freed himself up to the right of the goalmouth for a backdoor pass from Mike Grace at the left point.
Peoria regained the lead in the third on John Daniels' first goal of the season at the midway point of the final frame, but Chris Luker brought it back even once again on the power play with a blast from the right circle to beat Tyler Green on his blocker side to force overtime.
It took thirteen seconds for the RiverKings to end it in overtime as Mike Moran fed Bradshaw on a two-on-one break and Bradshaw slipped the puck past a diving Green to give the RiverKings their fourth straight victory.
Peter Di Salvo (3-0-0) won his third game of the season with 14 saves and Tyler Green (4-1-2) was handed his second overtime loss after stopping 33.
