RiverKings Claim Moroso, Trade to Macon for Salkeld

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. - The RiverKings and Head Coach/Directory of Hockey Operations Derek Landmesser have announced a bevy of roster moves on Wednesday including a trade with Macon and activating Pijus Rulevicius off injured reserve.

Starting on the waiver wire, the RiverKings claimed forward Mike Moroso who previously played with the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs. The Macomb, MI, native didn't get the chance to play for the black and gold as he was immediately traded to Macon in exchange for forward Ryan Salkeld.

Salkeld, 26, comes to the RiverKings in his second year of professional hockey. After four years playing for Buffalo State College, Salkeld made his professional debut with the Norfolk Admirals in 2015-16. Salkeld started his SPHL career last season win Fayetteville before landing in Macon. In his two seasons in the SPHL Salkeld has notched 14 goals and 13 assists in 46 games played.

In an unrelated roster move, the RiverKings activated Pijus Rulevicius off injured reserve and released forward CJ Hayes.

The RiverKings are back in action on the ice this coming weekend with a home-and-home series with the Evansville Thunderbolts. On the road for Friday night's game, the team will celebrate RiverThing's Birthday and Preds Night at Planters Bank Ice at Landers Center on Saturday night.
