Jr. StreetKings - The RiverKings are proud to support the Jr. StreetKings roller hockey program as a patron cause.
The Jr. StreetKings roller hockey program introduces area youth and their families to the world of hockey.  It develops physical skills, self-confidence, sportsmanship and teamwork within the context of exciting recreational events.  RiverKings players provide quality and experienced supervision.

The program is organized under the auspices of Hernando Youth Sports, and operated at a covered outdoor roller hockey arena at the Hernando Civic Center.  Proceeds from RiverKings fundraisers, such as jersey auctions, in-game activities, and the annual RiverKings golf tournament supplement funding from parents of the players and from Maddox Foundation. For more information, visit www.jrstreetkings.com.

Assists for Autism - The RiverKings are proud to support Assists for Autism as a patron cause, helping to raise money for autism education and family support initiatives in DeSoto County and the greater Memphis area.
The team campaign, “Assists for Autism,” is the brainchild of community advocate and business owner Wayne Bartley and a RiverKings player.

Fans and supporters can make a fixed pledge for every assist made by the team to help children in the autism spectrum through early intervention, in-class aids, teacher training and family support groups.
Bartley also helped establish an endowed fund at the Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi to make yearly grants pertaining to the cause.

Children with autism can be very successful if given the right tools. Finding the right tools can be difficult because autism is a spectrum condition, so treatment and development plans that work for one child may not work for another. Assists for Autism aims to give these children and their families the right tools to succeed.

Fans and patrons may pledge a designated amount per assist or make a one-time donation to Assists for Autism. Over the past three hockey seasons, the RiverKings have averaged 383 assists.

Interesting factoid: The odds of winning the U.S. Open twice are 1 in 1.2 billion; the odds of being diagnosed with autism: 1 in 110. For boys, it’s 1 in 70. For more information on Assists for Autism, call the RiverKings front office at 662.342.1755 or email whitley@riverkings.com.  Join the team in helping children and families in the Mid-South dealing with autism!

Noah’s Gift Memorial 5K - This fall, the memory of Noah Samuel Costa will run on, as the RiverKings host the first "Noah's Gift Memorial 5K," Saturday, October 1st on the Historic Hernando Square.

Proceeds from the race go to "Noah's Gift" an endowed fund at the Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi. This fund’s mission is to inspire and reward deserving young people with the gift of an extraordinary experience that was of interest to 16-year-old Noah Costa at the time of his death.  His interests were as wide-ranging and fun as his personality: playing hockey, traveling, hiking, water sports, skydiving, and much more.

Click here to register for the race, visit the race’s website, 'Like' Noah's Gift on Facebook and follow @NoahsGift on Twitter for more information as the event approaches.
